Jacinta Brondgeest was born in Oregon, but at six weeks her family relocated to Sydney, Australia. After years of being in bands, in 1997 Jacinta decided to take the solo artist route (with a solo name), writing and performing her own dance music around Australia. Eventually, she started her own record label, Chunky Music, as well, releasing her first album, Sandalwood: Under the Influence, in 2000.
