Disjecta is the solo side-project of guitarist and electronics composer Mark Clifford, also a member of ambient/post-rock group Seefeel. Unlike Seefeel's warm, serene soundscapes, Clifford's solo work is far less accessible, tying dark, bassy textures to clunky, abrasive beats that recall the more measured moments of labelmates such as RAC and Autechre. Clifford's first work as Disjecta was a pair of singles titled "Looking for Snags," released simultaneously by Warp in early 1996. A full-length, Clean Pit and Lid, followed soon after. ...
