Former tattoo artist and Marduk vocalist Legion called up old friend and Marduk drummer Emil Dragutinovic, worked in two guitarists, Joinus and Tomas Nilsson, a bassist, Roberth Karlsson, and gave it a name: Elizium. Shortly thereafter, the new group changed their name to Devian, and began to take their demo around to labels.
