Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina Ariel Rot started playing "rock en español" in Spain after teaming up with singer Alejo Stivel, drummer Manolo Iglesias, guitarist Julián Infante and bassist Felipe Lipe in a local outfit called Tequila. Their first album called Matrícula de Honor came in 1978. The Spanish-Argentine foursome disbanded in 1983 after issuing four records.
