Italian pop singer Marco Carta (born in Cagliari on May 21, 1985) made his official debut as a cast member of the 2007-2008 edition of the popular talent show Amici di Maria de Filippi. At the end of the season, Carta finished first, thus winning not only a prize of 300,000 euros but also a deal with the Italian branch of the Warner record label.
