Before Owl City, singer/songwriter Adam Young worked on the songs that became his side project Sky Sailing. More acoustic-based than Owl City’s electro-pop, Young wrote and recorded Sky Sailing’s songs in 2006, while he was still a Minnesota metalworker living with his parents. After Owl City’s Ocean Eyes became a hit, the Sky Sailing material was released as An Airplane Carried Me Up to Bed in summer 2010.
