Life Garden originally began in 1989 with David and Su Ling Oliphant improvising an array of acoustic instruments, synthesizers, and samplers to the background of George Dillon spoken poetry. Tragically, by the time Life Garden's first album, Caught Between the Tapestry of Silence and Beauty, came out in 1991, Dillon had passed away from the results of a heart attack.
